1. Introduction & Acceptance

Welcome to FindYourTeam ("we," "us," "our," or the "Platform"). By accessing or using this website, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our Platform.

This Platform is a community-driven directory and review site for youth soccer clubs, coaches, teams, and camps. We are dedicated to transparency, privacy, and authentic user experiences.

2. User Accounts & Security

2.1 Age Requirement

You must be 18 years or older to create an account. Parents and guardians may create accounts on behalf of their children to submit reviews and engage with the community.

2.2 Account Responsibility

• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password.
• Your password must meet our minimum security requirements: at least 8 characters, including letters and numbers.
• You must immediately notify us of any unauthorized use of your account.
• You are solely responsible for all activities that occur under your account.

2.3 One Account Per Person

Each user may maintain only one account. Creating multiple accounts ("sock-puppet" accounts) to manipulate reviews, ratings, or community engagement is strictly prohibited and will result in permanent account suspension.

3. Username & Privacy Protection

3.1 Username Rotation System

We offer a unique privacy protection feature: username rotation. You may change your public username up to 3 times per calendar year. This limit resets every January 1st.

3.2 Frozen Usernames on Past Reviews

When you submit a review, your current username is "frozen" with that review permanently. This means:

• Past reviews will always display the username you had at the time of submission.
• Changing your username does NOT update your username on previously submitted reviews.
• This protects your privacy while maintaining the authenticity of your review history.

3.3 Privacy by Design

Your real name (if provided) is never displayed publicly. Only your chosen username is visible to the community. This system allows you to contribute authentic feedback while maintaining your privacy.

4. User Generated Content ("The Glassdoor Clause")

4.1 Ownership & License

You retain ownership of the content you submit (reviews, comments, ratings). However, by posting content on our Platform, you grant FindYourTeam a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive license to use, display, reproduce, modify, and distribute your content for the purpose of operating and promoting the Platform.

4.2 Review Persistence

Reviews remain published after account deletion to preserve community data integrity. Termination of your account does not result in the removal of your contributed content. We retain the right to display your reviews anonymously (with your frozen username) even after account closure.

4.3 Content Guidelines

All user-submitted content must comply with the following guidelines:

• No Hate Speech: Content promoting violence, discrimination, or harassment based on race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or other protected characteristics is strictly prohibited.
• No Doxxing: Publishing private information (addresses, phone numbers, personal details) without consent is forbidden.
• No False Statements: Reviews must be based on genuine experiences. Fabricated reviews or intentionally misleading information will result in account termination.
• No Spam: Repetitive, off-topic, or promotional content unrelated to youth soccer is not allowed.

4.4 Section 230 Immunity

FindYourTeam acts as a passive conduit for user-generated content. Under the Communications Decency Act (CDA) Section 230, we are not liable for content posted by users. We do not endorse, verify, or guarantee the accuracy of user reviews.

While we moderate content for compliance with our guidelines, we are not responsible for the opinions, claims, or statements made by users.

5. Verification & Proof of Experience

5.1 Proof Document Submission

When submitting reviews, you may be required to provide authentic proof of your experience, such as:

• Team rosters showing your child's name
• Camp registration receipts
• Club membership confirmations
• Payment records or invoices

5.2 Document Privacy & Retention

Uploaded proof documents are:

• Visible to administrators only — never displayed publicly.
• Stored securely on Amazon Web Services (AWS) S3.
• Retained for 24 months for dispute resolution and fraud prevention, after which they are permanently deleted.

5.3 Falsifying Documents

Submitting fake, altered, or fraudulent proof documents is grounds for immediate and permanent account termination. We reserve the right to report fraudulent activity to relevant authorities.

6. For Clubs & Coaches (Profile Claims)

6.1 Profile Claim Rights

Claiming a club or coach profile is a privilege, not a right. By claiming a profile, you are granted management rights, not ownership. Profiles are community assets maintained for the benefit of parents and players.

6.2 Review Integrity

Clubs and coaches cannot delete negative reviews unless they violate our Content Guidelines (hate speech, spam, false information). We reserve the right to:

• Revoke profile claim access if a club manipulates ratings (e.g., forcing parents to leave 5-star reviews).
• Suspend accounts that engage in review manipulation, intimidation, or retaliation against reviewers.
• Remove profiles from the Platform if they violate our community standards.

6.3 Profile Ownership Changes

If club or coaching staff changes occur, the new leadership may request a profile claim transfer. We will verify the legitimacy of such requests before granting access.

7. AI Scout & Recommendations

Our Platform includes an AI Scout feature that provides personalized club, coach, and camp recommendations based on your preferences and location.

7.1 AI-Generated Content Disclaimer

AI Scout is a helpful tool but not a substitute for your own research. Recommendations are generated by artificial intelligence and may contain inaccuracies or omissions. We are not responsible for:

• The accuracy or completeness of AI-generated recommendations.
• Decisions made based on AI Scout suggestions.
• Outcomes resulting from following AI-generated advice.

Always verify information independently and conduct your own due diligence before making decisions about clubs, coaches, or camps.

8. Monetization & Affiliate Partnerships

8.1 Affiliate Links Disclosure

Important: This Platform uses affiliate links and partnerships. We may earn a commission when you:

• Click on links to camps or training programs.
• Register for camps through our affiliate partners.
• Purchase gear or services through partner links.

8.2 Editorial Independence

Our affiliate relationships do not influence our reviews, rankings, or recommendations. User reviews are authentic and unbiased. We do not accept payment to manipulate club or coach ratings.

8.3 Reader-Supported Model

FindYourTeam is reader-supported. When you buy through links on our site, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. This helps us keep the Platform free and accessible to all families.

9. Liability Disclaimer

9.1 Directory Service Only

We are a directory and information platform. We do not:

• Vouch for the safety, quality, or legitimacy of any club, coach, or camp.
• Conduct background checks on coaches or staff.
• Verify credentials, certifications, or licenses.
• Endorse or recommend any specific organization.

9.2 Parental Responsibility

Parents and guardians are solely responsible for:

• Conducting their own due diligence before enrolling their children.
• Verifying coach credentials and background checks.
• Assessing the safety and suitability of any program.
• Reading contracts, waivers, and terms with clubs or camps.

9.3 No Liability for Injuries or Disputes

We are not liable for:

• Injuries sustained during participation in any club, team, or camp.
• Financial disputes between parents and organizations.
• Contractual disagreements or refund issues.
• Any harm, loss, or damages arising from your use of information on this Platform.

10. Content Moderation & Appeals

10.1 Moderation Policy

All user-submitted reviews are moderated before publication. Moderation times vary based on submission volume. We review content on a best-effort basis but do not guarantee specific timelines.

10.2 Content Removal

We reserve the right to remove content that:

• Violates our Content Guidelines (hate speech, doxxing, spam).
• Contains false or fraudulent information.
• Is deemed harmful to the community or Platform.

10.3 Appeals Process

If your content is removed, you may contact us at [email protected] to appeal the decision. We will review appeals within 7 business days and provide a response.

11. Account Termination

11.1 Voluntary Termination

You may request account deletion at any time by contacting [email protected]. Upon termination:

• Your personal information (email, name) will be deleted.
• Your reviews will remain published with your frozen username to preserve community data.
• You will no longer have access to your account or ability to edit past reviews.

11.2 Involuntary Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that:

• Violate these Terms of Service.
• Submit fraudulent reviews or falsified documents.
• Engage in harassment, doxxing, or hate speech.
• Create multiple accounts or manipulate ratings.

12. Jurisdiction & Governing Law

This Platform is intended for users in the United States, specifically the DMV area (District of Columbia, Maryland, Virginia). By using this site, you agree to U.S. jurisdiction and the laws of the State of Maryland.

If we expand internationally, these Terms will be updated to reflect applicable laws in other regions.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

For significant changes, we will notify users via email or a prominent notice on the Platform.
